Only courses approved by the Mississippi State Board of Contractors and taught by approved providers or instructors count. Approved courses state the number of CE hours the Board has granted them, and the Board keeps the approved list on its website.

  1. Find the course on the Board’s approved continuing education list before you pay.

Reporting

How Mississippi residential contractor CE is reported, and what happens in an audit

You report your own CE in Mississippi. Each qualifying party sends proof of the 2 hours with the yearly renewal, either uploaded with an online renewal or mailed with the renewal form. Approved providers also send MSBOC a roster of attendees within 14 days of the course.

  • Your provider must give you a certificate of completion within 30 days of the course.
  • Attach proof of each qualifying party’s 2 hours to your renewal, or the renewal is returned.
  • Hours don’t carry over from one licensure period to the next.
  • Giving MSBOC false CE documentation leads to fines and action against your license.
  • Keep a copy of every certificate in case MSBOC asks for it later.
