Approval

How to check an Arkansas HVAC CE course is approved

Courses must be approved by the Board to count. Half of your 8 hours must cover the mechanical code as the Board has adopted it.

  1. Confirm the course is approved by the Arkansas Department of Labor and Licensing before you pay.
  2. Check that at least 4 hours cover the adopted mechanical code.
  3. Make sure your remaining 4 hours are on a Board-approved topic.

Reporting

How Arkansas HVAC CE is reported, and what happens in an audit

Your course provider reports your hours. After a Board-approved course, the provider completes an attendance roster and submits it to the Board, and that roster is the only document accepted to confirm credit. The Board keeps the rosters and a list of approved courses.

  • Keep a certificate of completion for every course.
  • Track your code hours and other hours separately.
  • Providers keep attendance records for at least five years.
  • Check that your hours are on file before you renew.
